Build a Better Golf Swing
The foundation of a great swing starts with understanding that there are an infinite number of way to swing a golf club, but that there is only one efficient way to swing, and it’s based on what each player is physically able to do.
We can look at some of the best golfers in the history of the sport, and while we see differences in how they swing, we can also identify components of the swing that they all have in common.
Driven Swing Analysis
When it comes to improving your golf performance, there are a million different tips, drills, exercises, and fitness apps out there. So how are you supposed to know which are the right ones for you?
It all starts with measurements – real, objective data about how your body moves through your swing, and how efficiently you’re able to use your body to store and release energy. In short, if you don’t assess, it’s just a guess.
This is why Driven’s Swing Analysis is so important for every golfer. We measure every aspect of your body’s ability to move through the golf swing, and use that data to identify problem areas and design golf performance training focused on fixing those problems at their source. A thorough swing analysis consists of 3 components:
TPI Screen
- Golf-specific posture and movement screen
- Identify physical limitations that may be affecting your golf swing
- Guides other physical assessments
- Focuses training on YOUR specific areas of need for MAXIMUM improvement
Video Swing Analysis
- Detailed biomechanical breakdown based on two videos of your swing
- Identify posture are movement patterns that may be negatively affecting your performance
- Focuses training on YOUR specific areas of need for MAXIMUM improvement
K-Vest Biomechanical 3-D Swing Analysis
- Measures how your body moves as you swing in greater detail than otherwise possible
- Understand body position angles, rotation angles, swing timing, X-factor, and angular velocity of various body parts
- Understand where to focus training for MAXIMUM improvements in swing efficiency and clubhead speed
Golf Performance Training
Improving your golf performance requires focus on four key areas:
- Mobility
- Stability
- Strength
- Power
Read on below to see how our training programs focus on these four areas to produce real, lasting results, whether you’re a junior golfer, beginner, or seasoned professional.
Mobility
Good mobility is the foundation of a great swing.
Poor mobility leads to compensations during your swing, decreased distance, poor swing and shot consistency, and, frequently, development of injuries.
Without mobility, your body simply cannot do what your brain (and your golf pro) is asking it to do.
Improving your mobility will:
- Allow you to rotate through the swing
- Increase your X-factor stretch
- Increase your clubhead speed
- Increase your distance
- Decrease the risk of injury
Stability
Body segments have to be able to stabilize themselves properly without excessive movement, otherwise you waste power and increase risk of injury.
Without stability, your swing is leaking power.
Improving your stability will:
- Improve weight transfer and balance
- Help transfer power from the ground up
- Increase your swing efficiency
- Increase your clubhead speed
- Increase your distance
- Decrease the risk of injury
Strength
Good functional strength allows you to better control your body during the golf swing, as well as apply greater force to the ball at impact.
Without good functional strength, you will have slower ball speeds, struggle on longer holes, and have an average putting distance 30% longer than you would with good functional strength.
Improving your strength will:
- Help maintain mobility
- Support your joints, decreasing pain and risk of injury
- Produce greater ground reaction force
- Improve maximum power output
- Increase your clubhead speed
- Increase your ball speed
- Increase your distance
- Decrease the length of your putts
- Improve putting distance control
Power
The ultimate goal off the tee.
The ability to generate power means longer drives, less difficulty with long par-3’s, and easier approach shots from the fairway.
Without the ability to generate power, you will struggle with longer holes, have difficulty hitting greens in regulation, and give up numerous strokes over an 18-hole round.
Improving your power output will:
- Improve your acceleration and deceleration
- Increase your clubhead speed
- Transmit more force to the ball at impact with less effort
- Increase shot consistency
- Decrease the risk of injury
- Decrease difficulty with long par-3’s
- Put you in scoring position more often
Would your game benefit from:
- Better rotation?
- Ability to stay over the ball?
- Increased lag?
- Increased clubhead speed?
- Increased consistency?
- Increased distance (10+ yards MINIMUM)?
- Hitting irons into the green on longer holes?
- Regularly sticking the green closer to the hole?
- Decreased pain, post-round soreness, and injury risk?
